Reimagining Secondary Schooling
The UK’s first pop-up thought-leadership day for forward-thinking school leaders, owners and teachers seeking to embrace hybrid learning and reshape secondary education for the future.
Tuesday 20th January 2026 (the day before BETT)
Central London
ORGANISED BY
Steed Education in partnership with British School Muscat and British School Salalah
The traditional model for secondary schooling is under pressure.
As the recruitment crisis deepens and school budgets are stretched, delivering a purely classroom-based education is becoming unsustainable. Add to that growing student disengagement and absenteeism, and it’s clear that the time has come to explore alternative models of secondary schooling.
Could hybrid schools be the answer? That certainly seems to be where we’re heading.
A recent survey by Teacher Horizons revealed that 85.8% of teachers are open to online or hybrid learning and only 15.4% want to teach exclusively in person.
Join us for an inspiring day of discussion, where we’ll examine the merits of the hybrid model and explore how it can help address the biggest challenges schools now face.
“Reimagining Secondary Schooling is the first conference which seeks to explore remote and hybrid schools as a solution to the changing realities of secondary education. ”
Bringing together experts, innovators and policymakers from across the field, this pop-up thought-leadership day provides a vital space to explore emerging models of schooling, understand best practices in online pedagogy and discuss how we can best deliver education for future generations.
We will explore:
How remote schooling will help address teacher shortages, budget shortfalls and student disengagement
The three essential elements of the hybrid model
Practical ideas for implementing remote teaching in your school
How to develop an effective remote teaching pedagogy
What a hybrid school might look like in practice
How to engage parents and governments in the shift to remote schooling
Our Speakers, Panellists and Provocateurs
Hear from the people leading the transition to hybrid schooling.
Some of the key players in remote education will be joining us to share their insights, offer practical advice and unpack the biggest questions in remote learning.
