David Palmer, BSc (Econ)

David has 28 years’ experience working in independent schools on both the teaching and the operational sides.

David has a particular expertise at translating school accounts and financial statements into clear narrative that tells a school’s financial story. He also works on a deep analysis of the school’s operational metrics.

Career

David began his career as an Accountant training with Arthur Anderson & Co, before working as a finance manager in the oil industry. He then joined Bradfield College as an Economics and Business Studies teacher, where he went on to be a Housemaster and Head of Department. His career then pivoted to the operations side of the College taking on the roles of Commercial Manager and Assistant Bursar. He was Bursar of Norris Hill School in Newbury where he oversaw the merger of the school into the Forfar Schools Group. He then returned to the Bradfield family, taking on the role of Estates Bursar of St Andrew’s Prep School.

Education

David has a degree in Economics from the University of Southampton; and is a qualified Accountant.
